August is a special month for me as my birthday is on the 18th - and I spent it with a small group of friends and family, we had a lovely little barbecue 🍖.

New Hotwire Club Challenges

I've published two new challenges for the Hotwire Club:

Turbo Drive - Use ULIDs for Optimistic UI: Here we explored how to create collision-free unique lexographically sortable IDs on the client by intercepting form submissions.

Turbo Frames - Render Flash Messages Upon Form Submission: The newest challenge deals with a common problem - setting a flash message outside of a Turbo Frame without giving up frame navigation.

Hotwire Club Screencasts

In one of the last messages to the club I put the idea of doing Hotwire Club screencasts to the test. Sadly I got no new signups or upgrades to confirm the demand here, so I'm dropping this idea - for now.

New Email Series

I started a new email series called "Code Sculpture" around my personal approach to coding and software design - and how it's intertwined with my practice as a sound artist. Go to RailsReviews.com and wait for the popup form to appear to sign up (I will follow up with an embedded form soon).
